Foreign Affairs Issue Travel Warning for Ecuador
Growing tension in Ecuador has led the federal government to issue a warning about travel to the country.
Major anti-government protests have caused turmoil in the country’s capital. Ecuador’s President Guitierrez was ousted earlier this week, leading Vice President Alfredo Palacio to be named the new leader.
Foreign Affairs is telling Canadians not to travel to the country and those Canadians in Ecuador are being asked to contact their embassy if they need help.
A federal government spokesman says it’s still unclear if the embassy will be able to remain open.
