Only the third pitch was an option Saturday at Comerica Park. Rain and snow blew across Metro Detroit and finally ended the Tigers’ hopes of playing a game against the Twins.
The game, which was scheduled for 1:05 p.m., was called just before noon. It has been rescheduled for Monday at 1:05 p.m., although the weekend’s winter hangover threatens today’s 1:05 game against the Twins and could ruin Monday’s plans.
Monday was to have been a travel day for the Tigers ahead of their three-game series at Cleveland. Now, manager Alan Trammell hopes a rare late-April cold blast subsides enough to give the Tigers a shot at saving two of the three games against the Twins.
