Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) has selected industry veteran Dana Murugan as its new Senior Director, Marketing, Middle East and Africa, the company announced today.
Murugan, who most recently acted as the regional partner development and marketing manager for one of the world’s largest software companies, has identified demand generation for Oracle’s software and high-touch customer communication as two priorities in his new role.
‘Dana brings to Oracle both an extensive track record in the technology sector from a channel, sales, and marketing perspective, and the firsthand knowledge of the business needs of organizations in the Middle East and Africa that can only come from more than a decade of working in these markets,’ said Husam Dajani, Vice President, Oracle Middle East and Africa.
Previous roles in channel development and relationship management with solution partners, independent software vendors, and global alliances for software majors will enable Murugan to boost Oracle’s marketing efforts with its regional channel. In addition, consistent communication with Oracle’s hundreds of regional customers from the aviation, banking, energy, government, and telecommunications sectors will be central to Murugan’s strategy.
