Canada bounced from U-20 soccer tourney
Canada is leaving the world womens under-20 soccer championship earlier than ever before.
And the fact that the Canadian women put on their best showing of the tournament in a 1-0 loss to favoured China on Wednesday will do little to ease the long flight home.
Canada (1-2-0) finished third in Group B behind China (3-0-0) and Nigeria (2-1-0). Only the top two in the group advance to the quarter-finals.
Nigeria cruised by Canada into second spot by thumping winless Finland 8-0.

Two superb late strikes cost Canada its opener at the under-20 womens world soccer championships Thursday.
Cynthia Uwak scored twice in the last eight minutes - her second in injury time - to lead Nigeria to a dramatic 3-2 victory over Canada in the opening game for both teams at world womens tournament.
I think it was two real special goals by Nigeria, the second and the third that were our undoing, said Canadian coach Ian Bridge. The game is about scoring goals and they scored two great ones there.

But the soccer balls were a different matter.
