Bear Stearns names Peretie as Europe CEO
Bear Stearns Cos. Inc. (BSC) Monday named Michel Peretie to the new role of chief executive of the banks activities in Europe, adding to his post as chairman of its London-based unit, Bear Stearns International Ltd.
The move comes as Bear Stearns boosts its presence in Europe in areas such as mortgage lending and packaging, equity sales-trading and prime brokerage.
Since 2003, the banking group has added about 300 people to its London office and last month said it would move to a new European headquarters being built in Londons Canary Wharf for completion in 2009.

To do this, the UK-built spacecraft must generate and transmit a timing and navigation signal by June 2006.

America looks for a bear season ahead in three states
In a move that could lead to hunting of America's grizzly bears after thirty years of being “protected”, the government is broaching the removal of protection in three states given their surging numbers.

But over three decades, under the government's benevolent eye their populations have soared averaging 4 to 7 percent growth yearly.
This recovery has itself posed a problem for administrators who try to accommodate
