Travel baseball team makes it to nationals

In the two years since forming the South Florida Mustangs travel baseball program, manager Gary Bussey has watched the squad rapidly grow into one of the area’s most competitive.

This summer, the Mustangs have again been among the best in the state.

The squad, competing as the Lake Worth Mustangs during the Pony League season, recently earned a second-place finish in the Pony League 11-and-under state tournament.

The Mustangs won the district tournament in early June and are currently playing in the Amateur Athletic Union national tournament, which began Friday in Orlando.

“I feel the team’s performance was outstanding in districts,” Bussey said. “We went undefeated, 10-run (mercy ruled) two teams and played extremely well defensively. We had great pitching. At state we played incredibly well. Even in the championship games we played well. The ball just didn’t bounce our way. I felt the team played hard and never quit.”

Lake Worth went undefeated in the state tournament before falling to the Tamiami A Youth Stars in the championship round.

Zimbabwe’s tourism industry witnesses revival: official

Meikles Africa Limited in Zimbabwe said on Monday the tourism industry in the country was witnessing a revival, though slowly, after years of a slump. He said aggressive marketing, a thaw in negative publicity about the country in key tourist source markets and improved transport had resulted in a slow revival of the tourism industry. "We are seeing encouraging signs in Victoria Falls on our side, with occupancy rates improving," he said. "The introduction of the MA60 planes
