International Peace Activists Protest against Limit on travel at Internal checkpoints in Hebron

Citizens of Hebron and international and Israeli peace activists demonstrated on Saturday the limit on travel by marching to the internal checkpoints in the city.

Many international and local peace activists staged the demonstration before the Israeli checkpoint in al-Shuhada’ street, which has been blocked since 1994.
.
Protestors carried placards calling for achieving peace, and played world music works calling for peace.

Earlier on last Friday, International Solidarity Movement said in a press release that demonstrators will select one of the internal checkpoints to be protested against as a symbol of all limits on travel for Palestinians.

Middle East mediation "quartet” should continue efforts - Putin

Zimbabwe Criticized for Planning Restrictions on Travel

Zimbabwe civil rights advocates blasted the government's proposed constitutional amendments that would, among other things, curtail the right of people to travel within the country and abroad. The government says the limit on travel is in public interest. President Robert Mugabe's government says the constitutional amendment to restrict peoples' movements is a measure needed to combat international terrorism and protect the country's national interests. Australia’s Alinta reports flat H1, announces asset spin-off through IPO

Energy utility Alinta Ltd said its first half net profit fell 12 pct to 42.3 mln aud from 48.1 mln, when figures are compared under international reporting standards. Alinta has also confirmed plans to sell down its majority shareholding in gas pipeline and power station assets acquired in April 2004 from Duke Energy Inc of the US.
